The site’s intention is to create a community for cyclists of all types built around WordPress and BuddyPress. Be it proponents of urban commuters, professional and amateur competitors, or dirt and trail lovers like myself. I am trying to create a means of both community and meet-up opportunities. Groups, Events and Mapping are all built in functions of PedalSociety. Created to help facilitate communication and encourage organizing group rides. I have gone to great lengths to embrace the “hardened” social media sites through their provided APIs to create seamless integration in both directions as to create a freshness in content and ease of sharing via those more established sites. There’s plenty more on the docket but I’m not giving away all my secrets, watch pedalsociety.com for a launch soon.

Malec, Herring & Krause

Gallery

A woman-owned psychological practice whom brought me in to take over and develop a new web presence after the current provider decided to [...]

A woman-owned psychological practice whom brought me in to take over and develop a new web presence after the current provider decided to cut web services. I develop, host, and consult on the website, educating them on basics such a blogging using the WordPress platform, to advanced concepts relating to social media and SEO. Additionally I developed an interface utilizing Amazon’s AStore / Affiliate program for adding products for-sale and recommended by the practice. The WordPress plugin utilizes the new custom page types and taxonomies of WordPress 3.0 to simplify the addition of products with a similar look and feel as traditional blog posts and site pages.

Please note this has just recently become available to the client and is not public yet. The site features a custom plugin to create the slideshows built around the wildly popular Nextgen Gallery plugin. I wanted a feature slideshow where I felt it would enhance the presentation but none of the available plugin utilized the jQuery library and some when as far as breaking it. This was not acceptable in user experience or even maintainable in a development situation so I created this slideshow plugin around jQuery Gallery View plugin and will soon release it on my blog. Additional elements are being worked on as time permits including a storefront built around the new custom pagetype and taxonomies in WordPress 3.0

Whitecanvas

Gallery

Social network built around Ruby on Rails and targeted toward the art types. Traditional Arts and New Media were intertwined in this startup, with all the expectations of current social media trends and a few unique ideas. My position was as both the server engineer, managing the cluster, and development of asset handling and presentation. I created a custom library to handle all type of common media, image, audio, and video. Also handling massive uploads and converting these for web presentation, including a custom video encoder, all built within Ruby. I was required to where hats from every imaginable company position, having the knack to speak business, geek, and artist kept things fun. A very small team of 7 built and released new features while enhancing others many times per week. We were a group of fantastic dreamers that made it a reality.

I’m Tweekin’ on 3.0, w/ the kitchensink

Wordpress Stuff

cache

configure

domains

multisite

nginx

wordpress 3.0

My URLs have changed and I’ve move the blog to it’s own place here is the updated link. http://blog.hybridindie.com/2010/06/22/tweekin-3-0/

My URLs have changed and I’ve move the blog to it’s own place here is the updated link. http://blog.hybridindie.com/2010/06/22/tweekin-3-0/

Nginx, WordPress MU Domain Mapping

Wordpress Stuff

domains

mapping

nginx

wordpress mu

My URLs have changed and I’ve move the blog to it’s own place here is the updated link. http://blog.hybridindie.com/2010/02/17/nginx-wordpress-mu-domain-mapping/

My URLs have changed and I’ve move the blog to it’s own place here is the updated link. http://blog.hybridindie.com/2010/02/17/nginx-wordpress-mu-domain-mapping/

Nginx &
